Rustic design

The name we chose is a bit misleading because it's not exactly "rustic" the look we are trying to produce.

rustic design is often described as simple and crude. In rustic design, natural materials such as wood, stone and metals are dominant and the main challenge is to create an interior design that resembles its simplicity and beauty to the outside world.

The philosophy behind rustic design is simply: Adopt organic aesthetics to create comfort and warmth. The following design principles help create a rural aesthetic.

Organic textures

Wood is a mainly used to build homes in the past and today in home countries and Canada for example. Recycled wood is an ideal choice because it gives the room a natural look. It is recommended to use pine, teak, oak or walnut to get a rustic feel.

Metals are also likely to be seen in these designs. Metals can be combined in space in different ways depending on your preference

for example:

New and old combination: new metal with old wood (look old)

A combination of old and painted metal

And countless other combinations

You can create a rustic look by choosing the right accessories and finishes. Aim for handcrafted items will probably make a solid wood item on the living room or kitchen table.

The interior design can be balanced to complete the rustic design by using stone / concrete / marble etc. Exposed walls, exposed concrete.

Reference to materials in space

To create a basic feel of a country house, large surfaces such as walls, floors and furniture can be left as unpainted raw material. However, color can often be regarded as an accessory that is placed to compliment the room's natural materials. If choosing a color looks challenging, white is the safest solution

In a rustic look, even a combination of fabrics can produce a natural aesthetic. Different fabrics can be laid / hung often side by side, producing a complex yet stylish design. Designed to look effortless, the floor needs nothing more than a coiled rug, it's a good way to give the bedroom a warm feeling.

Rustic furniture can often be made of recycled materials. Unlike contemporary or traditional furniture, country style has no expected lines or patterns. Often, frames or table legs / beds made of unplaned wood with a band saw cutting pattern, which gives an authentic feel. An easy way to soften the roughness created by these furniture is to utilize previously mentioned white shades.

Raw wood make the furniture look solid, minimalist, or, at least, handmade.
